Summer Opportunities for Junior Volunteers

Volunteer with area children and youth this summer and give back to your community!  Our 2012 Junior Volunteer program runs June 18-August 24, Monday-Friday, with morning and afternoon shifts.  The opportunities are all approved for student service learning credit as The Arc Montgomery County.  The minimum age for volunteers is 13 years old by June 1.

* Volunteer as a child care assistant and help supervise children ages 2-4 while working in a fun, friendly environment.  Child care assistants will also aide in some classroom instruction, fine arts and recreational activities. Volunteers must be at least 13 years old.  July 2-27 Only!

*Volunteer as a child care assistant and help supervise very young children ages 18 months-3 years while working in a fun, friendly environment.  Volunteers must be at least 14 years old.

*Volunteer as a child care assistant and help supervise young children ages 3-5 while working in a fun, friendly environment.  Some children in this group have special medical and/or developmental issues.  Child care assistants will also aide in arts and recreational activities. Volunteers must be at least 13 years old.

*Volunteer as a child care assistant and help supervise children ages 4-10 while working in a fun, friendly environment.  Child care assistants will also aide in some classroom instruction, fine arts and recreational activities. Off-site field trips may be part of the weekly programming.  Volunteers must be at least 13 years old.

*Volunteer in the main office, assisting with phones, visitors, paperwork, filing, etc.  Must be mature, energetic self-starters who enjoy administrative tasks and have a polished and professional personality, at least 13 years old.

Volunteer as a recreational activities assistant with youth ages 11-21 who have intellectual and developmental disabilities.  Provide leadership for programs involving crafts, sports, youth development, computer literacy and much more.  Leadership opportunities are available for students to create and lead specialized programs. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old.
