Sharon Adams
Community Supported Living Arrangement (CSLA) Services Participant
Sharon is a happy, independent, confident, and fulfilled young woman making the most of life. She sets goals and challenges herself to go above and beyond what people think are the limits of her abilities.
Sharon holds a janitorial position at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Sharon proudly says that she changed jobs last year because she wasn’t earning enough money doing the same activity at another government facility. So now she earns more money and has a shorter commute! And she loves her new job.
Along with her job, Sharon is passionate about her doll collection, her mother and grandmother, and taking classes in early childhood development at Montgomery College. She was even a model in The Arc’s last Fashion Show in 2006. Sharon is especially happy that she is able to live by herself in her own apartment with the support of The Arc of Montgomery County.
For the past 10 years, The Arc has helped Sharon with her finances, scheduling appointments and shopping. Sharon is not a success story because of The Arc – Sharon is a success story because of Sharon!
